The TC 85 is the ultimate machine for young racers before they step up to the full-size lineup of motocross machines available from Husqvarna Motorcycles. Its high-revving, powerful 85 cc 2-stroke engine delivers unrivalled performance and is perfectly positioned inside a chromium-molybdenum steel chassis to aid handling. The overall riding experience can be customised by engaging a choice of two engine maps, while the latest WP suspension is fully adjustable for a tailored setup. Completing the high-specification build of the TC 85 is a comprehensive selection of race-tested parts from Formula, Galfer, Neken, Pankl, and Twin Air.
Performance
Engine: Utilising the latest 2-stroke technology, this engine outperforms the competition in the 85 cc class. Performance is customisable using two engine maps. A close-ratio six-speed gearbox and hydraulic clutch complete the competitive build.
Cylinder: Lightweight aluminium design features an innovative powervalve system for top-notch performance. The cylinder head boosts bottom- to mid-range power, reducing clutch feathering on challenging tracks.
Crankcase: High-pressure die-cast construction with thinner walls reduces weight while maintaining strength. Mass centralisation is enhanced by bringing internal components closer to the centre of gravity.
Clutch: The hydraulic system from Miba ensures smooth, consistent performance and near maintenance-free operation. The clutch is housed in a strong steel basket for durability.
Chassis
Frame: Built from hydro-formed chromium molybdenum steel, offering both strength and precise flex. Engine placement optimises balance and delivers smooth cornering.
WP XACT Front Forks: Advanced 43 mm WP XACT AER forks with 278 mm travel. The left leg contains an adjustable air spring, accessible with a pump for rider preference, weight, and track conditions.
WP XACT PDS Shock: Fully adjustable rear shock with 289 mm travel, mounted directly to the swingarm using PDS (Progressive Damping System) for superior traction and stability.
Subframe: One-piece polyamide glass fibre-reinforced aluminium construction—lightweight yet rigid for excellent control and rider feedback.
Components
Graphics: Inspired by Swedish heritage, the white and yellow graphics are applied using durable in-mold technology.
Bodywork: Ergonomic design tailored to 85 cc riders. Slim profile allows better grip with the knees and freedom of movement.
Brakes: Floating calipers from Formula paired with Galfer discs (240 mm front, 220 mm rear) offer reliable, performance-oriented braking. Formula master cylinders and hoses contribute to durability and optimized performance.
Wheels: Black Excel rims (19″ front, 16″ rear) laced to CNC-machined hubs with strong spokes. Maxxis Maxxcross MX-ST tyres deliver excellent traction, straight-line stability, and predictability across diverse terrain.
Handlebars & Grips: Tapered, black anodised Neken handlebars with modern bend and high-quality aluminium construction allow for vibration damping and stability. ODI grips in black secure control, including features like a throttle grip that’s vulcanized on, a left grip clamped tight, and a protective bar pad at the mounts.
Technology
Airbox: Engineered for ideal airflow with inlet ducts and an easily accessible Twin Air filter behind the left side panel for quick and tool-free replacement.
Cooling: High-performance Pankl radiators—scaled-down versions from full-sized bikes—circulate coolant through the cylinder and crankcases to maintain consistent temperatures. A threaded radiator cap allows easy coolant checks.
Swingarm: One-piece design produced via gravity die-casting for strength and low weight. Clear chain adjustment markers simplify maintenance, and a durable chain guide/slider resists dirt buildup.
Exhaust: Seamless header pipes (internal welds removed) and optimised geometry maximize flow. The silencer features a sleek, black anodised finish.
Foot Pegs: Larger design enhances grip and resists mud accumulation. The refined mounting prevents catching in ruts—helping maintain momentum.
